The PT-DDS 2 is a general purpose Dissolution Medium Preparation instrument designed to prepare dissolution medium to the specifications laid down in the USP/EP and other Pharmacopoeias. In general most test for dissolution are carried out at 37.0°C and the medium used should be degassed. Failure to degas can have detrimental effects upon the release rate of the active material in the preparaton under study. This effect can cause the measured values to either be too low or too high depending upon the formulation.
